1. Is subsidy available for technology upgradation in small-scale foundry units?

The Credit Linked Capital Subsidy Scheme for Technology Upgradation (CLCSS) is an excellent scheme under which funds are available for modernization. Under this scheme, 12% subsidy can be availed on the loans taken (after October 2000) for technology up-gradation by any SSI unit registered with the State Directorate of Industries.

The maximum ceiling of loans eligible for the subsidy is Rs 40 lakhs. Hence foundry units can avail government support upto Rs 4.8 lakhs for modernizing their operations.

The list of technology/equipments for which loan can be taken to avail the subsidy is provided in Appendix 1.

Apart from the technologies mentioned in the list, units in need of introducing facilities for in-house testing and on-line quality control are also eligible for assistance.

Foundry units replacing an existing technology/equipment with the same technology/equipment are not eligible for assistance. Up-gradation with second hand machinery is also excluded from availing this subsidy.

The guidelines and application forms can be downloaded from the internet portal
