Extracts From The Relevant Bye-laws :
Qualification to be satisfied
for Membership (MIIF):
Bye-law 8
Every applicant for election or transfer to the class of Member
shall satisfy the following condition:
That he has completed 28 years of age at the time of application
and held atleast for 3 years a position of responsibility
in technical or executive or teaching capacity in the Foundry
industry or in a related kindred institute and possesses Such
academic qualifications as considered sufficient by the National
Council.
Qualification to be satisfied
for Associated Membership (AMIIF):
Bye-law 9
Every applicant for election or transfer to the class shall
satisfy the following conditions:
That he has completed 21 years of age at the time of application
and has been engaged in some branch of Foundry industry or
has Such academic qualifications as may be considered sufficient
by the National Council for this purpose.
Qualification to be satisfied
for Student Membership:
Bye-law 10 (as amended)
Every applicant for election to this class shall satisfy the
following condition:
That the applicant is a student of Foundry or Mechanical or
Metallurgical subjects in a recognized school,College or institute
or a technical trainee in Foundry at the time of application.
He can remain a student Member for a maximum of three years
which is to be renewed on a year to year basis.
Qualification to be satisfied
for Affiliateship:
Bye-law 11
This class is meant for Such Persons who are not directly
connected to the Foundry work,but are keenly interested and
wish to keep themselves in touch with the happenings and progress
in the Foundry industry by receiving regularly the Publications
of the institute or by attending the meetings regularly. All
those who are not foundrymen can apply for membership of this
category.
Benefits
of becoming Company Members
A
Company Member of the Institute is eligible to receive various
services/privileges such as free copy of IFJ every month,
a free entry in Indian Foundry Directory( a reference book
on Industry used by all Govt. and Non-Govt. Organisations),
opportunity to participate 8in group activities like International
Exhibition-GIFA, Hannover, etc. and weightage of 5 votes in
case of large Company and 2 Votes in case of Company Member
( Small Scale Industry) while participating in the Institute's
Election.
